Practical answers before you call

Practical questions in one place

Many questions are not about a treatment itself, but about what you need to arrange: registering, availability, changing an appointment or knowing when something is urgent.

If your question is not listed, contact reception. Do not send emergency symptoms, photos or extensive medical information through the website.

Frequently asked questions

Is Toolenburg Dental Care accepting new patients?

Yes. Please register online first. After receiving your registration and, where applicable, your dental record, reception will contact you about the next steps.

I am not yet a patient. Can I call about pain or an emergency?

We kindly ask new patients to register online first. After receiving your registration and, where applicable, your dental record, reception will contact you about the next steps.

What happens during a first visit?

Your first appointment is an extensive introduction. We discuss your medical and dental history, perform a full oral examination and take X-rays when needed. We then discuss your oral health, a treatment plan and, where applicable, a cost estimate.

What should I do in an emergency?

In an emergency, we will try to help you on the same day where possible. Please contact us as early as possible in the morning so we can adjust the schedule.

When is the practice reachable by phone?

The practice can be reached by phone on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 08:30 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 16:45. On Wednesday and Friday, reception is reachable from 08:30 to 12:15.

Can I change or cancel an appointment?

Please change or cancel your appointment at least 48 hours in advance where possible. Reserved treatment time may be charged when an appointment is not cancelled in time or is missed. Please also contact us if you have to cancel within 48 hours, so we know you cannot attend and can adjust the schedule where possible.

How does payment work?

We first submit claims to your health insurer. Any remaining patient contribution is then collected through the mandatory direct debit mandate.

Can I receive a cost estimate in advance?

For treatments where this is legally required or appropriate, you receive a clear cost estimate in advance. Current NZa rates are available on our pricing page.

Why do you need the record from my previous dentist?

Your dental record gives us an overview of your oral health and previous treatment, helping us prepare your first visit carefully. Ask your previous dentist to send it securely through ZorgMail.

Can I send medical information through the regular contact form?

No. Do not send medical information, photos or records through a regular web form or email. Ask for secure ZorgMail delivery to [email protected].

Does the practice use modern equipment?

Yes. We use a digital intraoral scanner, QuickSleeper for comfortable anaesthesia, and modern scaling and AirPolishing equipment for professional cleaning.

Is the practice accessible if I have difficulty walking?

The practice is on the first floor and has a stairlift. Please let us know in advance if you would like assistance.

Can I park for free near the practice?

Yes. Free parking is available near the practice. Please follow the local traffic and parking rules.
